Brick Patio Pressure Washing in Nashville, TN
In Nashville, we undertook a project to clean a brick patio that had been neglected for a long time. Over the years, the brick had accumulated a significant amount of moss and dirt, which gave it a worn-out and unappealing appearance.
To begin the cleaning process, we first applied a pretreatment using a sodium hypochlorite solution. Sodium hypochlorite is a powerful cleaning agent, commonly known as bleach. This solution helps in breaking down organic materials like moss, mold, and algae, making them easier to remove. It's essential to use this solution with care, as it can be harmful to plants and other surfaces if not handled correctly.
After allowing the sodium hypochlorite solution to sit for a while and work its magic, we proceeded with the pressure washing phase. Instead of using a high-pressure nozzle, which can sometimes damage the brick or erode the mortar between bricks, we opted for a surface cleaner. A surface cleaner is a tool that attaches to a pressure washer and is designed to clean flat surfaces evenly. It has a rotating bar beneath it with jets that spray water at a consistent pressure, ensuring an even and thorough cleaning without causing damage.
We set the pressure washer to a medium setting. This ensured that the force was strong enough to remove the moss, dirt, and grime but gentle enough not to damage the brick.
The result was outstanding. The once grimy and moss-covered brick patio was transformed, revealing its original color and texture. It looked refreshed, clean, and almost as good as new. The difference was night and day, and the homeowners were undoubtedly pleased with the outcome.
